Long COVID, defined as continuing or new symptoms that occur after SARS-CoV-2 infection for at least 3 months, may develop in up to 10% of acute COVID patients. Many cases go unrecognized and untreated by providers.
The Pitt IMProving Access to Culturally Relevant Long COVID Care and Treatment (IMPACCT) Program, a five-year initiative supported by the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), works to improve awareness of Long COVID diagnosis/treatment among primary care providers and access to experienced specialist care for patients.
